ARTILLERY BLOCK
This
block is the most important block of the fort. The block is equal to the
infantry block but much bigger. There are different types of artillery
blocks
-
A block with a retractable turret. This block has 3
levels and the height of a small flat.
-
A block with three 75 canons. The block is 44 weight and 7 meter
height. The three canons are gradual in the block. Because of the
size the blocks are an easy target for the enemy artillery. In 1940 the
Germans fired and block of Fermont and in 1944 the Americans fired and
the blocks of Hackenberg and Simserhof.
The artillery blocks have a direct connect with observation posts in
the surrounding (controlled by the artillery commando post). |
