In order to provide a place were the crew of the forts and casemates could live in peace time big barracks were build behind the line. In the barracks were houses for the officers, big barracks for the soldiers, hospitals, canteens and a rifle-ranges
Today a part of the barracks are still there. Only the barracks for the soldiers have been demolished but in the houses for the officers are still people living
