The large fort Brehain is the largest fort of the sector Crusnes with two rectrables turrets for two 75 mm canons. The fort has 8 blocks with armament and two entrances. Underground is the power plant with 4 SGCM engines and a barracks for 650 men's.

With its artillery the fort has fired on German troupes around Longwy as from 10th May. In total more than 4000 grenades were fired
On the 16th of June the fort was attacked with tanks without success.


Armament:

Block 1: retractable copula for machinegun, 1 turret for light machine gun
Block 2: retractable copula for machinegun, 1 turret for light machine gun
Block 3: 1 observation turret and 1 turret for light machine gun
Block 4: retractable copula for two 75 mm canons
Block 5:  retractable copula for two 135 mm Mortars and 1 turret for light machinegun
Block 6: retractable copula for  two 75 mm canons and 1 turret for mortar
Block 7: retractable copula for two 81 mm Mortars and 1 turret for light machinegun
Block 8: 1 turret for light machinegun en 2 turrets for machine gun

Nowadays the fort is abandoned by the army. Three turrets have been removed and are now in the museum of Fermont.


The fort is situated on private and military terrain. Access is not allowed
