The first fort of the region  Metz is the small fort Ferme Chappy (A1) with two casemates who are connected by an underground gallery of  310 metres long..

Underground are the barracks and the power plant with two Renault Engines of 35 hp.

Armament:

Block 1: entrance with two copulas for machinegun and observation, one copula for machinegun and two embrasures for 47 mm anti-tank gun or machinegun.
block 2: retractable copula for machinegun one copulas for machinegun and observation and one copula for machinegun

Nowadays the fort is abandoned by the army but the armour is still in place except the retractable copula. The inside is completely empty.
The fort is situated on private terrain and entrance is not allowed.
