fort is like a city with more than 2 kilometres of galleries.
Underground you will see the barracks, electrical power plant and ammunition
magazines. At the surface you see the large casemates with the guns and machineguns. |

Situated
in the north of France near the border with Luxembourg and Belgium, fort Fermont
is a part of the Maginot line. Constructed between 1930 and 1940 the fort was designed to stop a German attack for several days together with 50 other forts and more than 1000 small pillboxes.
Today the fort is
open for the public and we invite you to visit us. During the visit you will get an impression how the
men worked and lived during wartime..
