The fort of Tancrémont is situated South East of Liege
and is part of the outside defence of the town. The fort was finished on the
8th of August 1937. The fort has a quadrangle shape with a dry canal around
it. In the central massive are the entrance and 4 blocks.
Armament:
- two retractable turrets for 75 mm canons
- three 81 mm mortars
- three casemates for the canal defence
Outside the canal are two blocks with an air intake and one block has an
exit for in wartime
As from the 10th of May the fort was attacked by the
German army and defended is self till the armistice
Nowadays the fort is open for public and a museum
